The calcimeter measures the amount of calcium carbonate, or lime contents, in the soil. This is an important indication of the quality of the soil. Measure the carbonate content of a soil sample with the Royal Eijkelkamp calcimeter, created for the simultaneous research of 5 samples according to NEN-ISO 10693. The Odyssey® Conductivity and Temperature recorder encapsulates both the logger and sensors in one water proof housing. The salinity of free water is measured by induction where the conductivity alters the signal coupling between two sensor elements. At the same time temperature measurements are taken in order to calculate the specific conductivity.

Both the temperature and specific conductivity values can be viewed seperately using the Odyssey® software. Batteries included.

Unsaturated hydraulic conductivity in two easy steps

We designed the Mini Disk Infiltrometer to be the absolute fastest, easiest way to test unsaturated hydraulic conductivity and infiltration rates. There’s no complex setup. Just fill the reservoir, set the suction, and start measuring infiltration. You don’t even have to pre-saturate the disk.

The Odyssey® submersible depth and temperature recording system is a low cost, high resolution data logger. The depth measurements are derived from the water pressure exerted on the sensor. Both the recorder and sensor are included in one encapsulated housing.  Batteries included.

The loggers are supplied with a vent housing and tube attached to the logger. The vent allows for pressure readings relative to the surrounding atmospheric pressure to be taken. Available in three ranges:

0 to 5 meters.
0 to 10 meters.
0 to 20 meters.

The Odyssey® Tipping Bucket Rain Gauge recording system utilises an Odyssey® data logger interfaced with a Davis Instruments Tipping Bucket Rain Collector. Each tip of the bucket is logged with a timestamp in the data logger; this method generates true rainfall intensity data.

The Odyssey® Rain Gauge Loggers are available separately and are compatible with other tipping buckets (please check with the manufacturer).

The sensors operate on the principle of single gap light absorption as a means of detecting the presence of suspended solids. The sensors utilize a near infrared emitter to minimize color effects and compensates for emitter variations due to temperature by measuring source brightness.

The InsiteIG PortaCaddie is an organizational tool, sold with each sensor, that captures the meter along with the sensor and cable. The PortaCaddie is designed to manage the cable to eliminate tangles while using the system in the field. The meter, sensor, and cable are retained securely during transport and are easily deployed at the desired test location. The ProSolo handheld represents the evolution of YSI's line of portable Dissolved Oxygen field meters. It replaces the ProODO as YSI's most advanced optical dissolved oxygen field meter and is ideal for a diverse range of applications that include aquaculture, coastal, estuary, wastewater, and wetland sampling.

RainLog 2.0 is the next generation rainfall logger with numerous enhancements. This battery-operated logger fits inside most RainWise tipping bucket rain gauges. Rainfall is logged at a one-minute resolution and has capacity for several years of data.

RL-Loader 2 – Software (Free)

This free Windows based software package will run on Windows XP or later. RL-Loader is used to configure and download data from the RainLog. Data is displayed in both text and graphical formats and can be printed or exported directly into Microsoft Excel. The device info window gives you vital information about the RainLog, such as time, date and amount of memory used. The text window displays daily totals or the list of rainfall events as they occur. The graph window displays a bar chart of the daily rainfall totals with a configurable graphing range.

The RainLogger is a complete package containing a RainLog data logger, RL-Loader 2 software and rain collector and mounting mast. The tipping bucket rain gauge is calibrated to 0.01 inches / 0.25 mm per tip. Other calibrations are available on request.

The Skywatch BL-1000 is a complete weather station which provides accurate measurements of wind speed, wind direction, temperature, humdity and barometric pressure, and relays these to a dedicated smart-phone application and secure data warehouse.

The BL-1000 is capable of storing data locally on an iOS™ or Android™ smart-phone or tablet, and transferring the measurements to Weathercloud with map visualisation. Data can subsequently be extracted from the map to a CSV (comma separated variable file) for subsequent processing evaluation.

This penetrometer is a simple, easy-to-use management tool that can help to increase yields and decrease costs. It is designed for an exact determination of soil density. In compressed soil, the absorption of water and nutrients by the plant is only possible to a limited extent.

A further consequence is the reduced air exchange in the soil and a reduction of N-minieralisation. Compacted soil also results in poor root and plant development. Because of the density, the roots cannot grow and loose their ability of transporting water and nutrients. That can reduce yields by up to 50%.

This simple, robust penetrometer measures the penetration resistance of soils. It is pressed vertically into the ground by using both handles. The penetration resistance appears on an analog display in psi on an easy-to-read colour display.

The handy anemometer WIND BEE is the ideal tool for measurement of wind speed. The Xtreem submersible temperature logger is easier to use than ever and has improved specifications. There is no need to open the logger to get your data out as it wirelessly connects to your phone/tablet. With extended battery life there is even less need to open the logger. The batteries are now relatively eco friendly Alkaline which makes them easier to purchase and dispose of. The sensor is easily removed for cleaning or replacement. Your data is stored in a cloud database provided by AWS ( Amazon Web Services ). There is a small annual charge for this of NZ$15.
